This Arden Flosmaron log bowl is a quirky little piece of English pottery from the 1920s–30s, with a bark-textured body in soft browns and greens.
It’s from Flosmaron’s ‘Log’ series, moulded to look like a section of tree trunk, complete with a knot on one side and a pretty moulded rim. The outside has a glossy, shaded glaze that moves from brown to soft green, and the inside is a creamy glaze. The base is marked Arden, Flosmaron, English Make.
The history of Flosmaron can be traced back to the Thomas Lawrence factory at Longton, Staffordshire, England, which used the trade name Falconware. It’s likely Flosmaron pottery was made at the Falconware factory.
Fill it with shells, keys or trinkets, tuck in a posy of dried flowers, or leave it empty on a shelf where the glaze catches the light. **Condition:** It’s around a century old and shows it. There’s light staining and grime on the base, and a few small nicks and specks around the foot ring (see photos). There’s a tiny dark speck on the bottom inside the bowl. [Confirm: no cracks, chips on the rim or repairs.]

**Care:** Hand wash gently in warm soapy water and dry well. Keep it out of the dishwasher and microwave.
