A big vintage aluminium cake tin from 1940s Australia, with CAKES embossed across the front in classic Art Deco lettering.
Spun aluminium, with a fitted lid and a brown Bakelite knob. There’s plenty of room for a delicious sponge or a batch of Anzacs. It pairs beautifully with our 1940s spun aluminium sugar canister (listed separately).
Put it to work in the kitchen, or admire it on an open shelf or as a shop counter display.
Condition: Great used condition for its age. Light scratches inside and out, some white oxidation spotting on the inside base, and a small dent in the bottom of the tin (see photos). Photos form part of the description.

Care: Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry straight away. Not dishwasher safe, aluminium will darken.
